When my eldest daughter was approaching her bat mitzvah, I wanted to give her something special. A gift that signified this momentous occasion. A gift that showed her how proud I was of her, and would encourage her to continue living up to her full potential. But what gift could do all this?

 

I decided to create an original art piece that spoke to the incredible person she was, and the person she was still becoming. I incorporated a pasuk that showed her what I saw: a refined, happy young woman. By hand, I created a papercut, carving my personal message to her. The result was a modern, clean and vibrant piece of artwork. The gift was so meaningful to my eldest, I decided to make a piece for each of my daughters for their bat mitzvah. Every piece was unique to each of them. Timeless works of art. Keepsakes they could treasure forever. With each gift, I gave a piece of myself to them.

 

Soon, people started taking notice of the artwork. I began getting requests for personal art for family members, friends, and colleagues. People  were looking for a personal and special way to express their love, their appreciation and  give recognition to special people in their lives, just as I had with my daughter. That is exactly what my artwork seeks to do. This was the beginning of Elite Gifts. 

 

Creating papercuts was something I started doing for my family. It’s now turned into a business, but it is still truly a labor of love.
